Coaching and Mentoring

Richard Hale has conducted doctoral level research into learning relationships, focused on coaching and mentoring.  This has been published in internationally recognised journals.  He has developed a number of practical tools to support coaches and mentors in the corporate, educational and public sector context.

He also practices as a coach and mentor providing support to executives and leaders in their continuing professional development.

Richard also helps organisations in setting up coaching and mentoring programmes, and in developing the capability of their own leaders in the coaching or mentoring role.

“I have no hesitation in recommending Richard. He worked with me whilst studying for my Masters in Leadership & Management Practice with LTSB Asset Finance. Whilst he was highly skilled academically I also found he had an uncanny ability to get to the heart of an issue and reframe it in a way that made the answer obvious! A rare skill indeed.
He is also able to communicate with people at all levels in a 'non-academic' language which helped me and my fellow students immensely. Thank you Richard.”

“I know Richard through our association at Middlesex University where he is supervising my doctorate. His focus on learning, particularly workplace-based learning theory as well as practice, is impressive. In our various conversations Richard has pointed me in the right direction or to the right people numerous times which seems to be typical of his selfless dedication to maximising his and his colleagues' learning opportunities.”
